What We Do

The mission of Peace Learning Circles (PLC) is to promote a culture of peace through education to youth and communities. The vision of PLC is that our homes, schools, and places of work, worship and play will be a welcoming and safe place where everyone is included, respected, and cherished. Peace Learning Circles began as an affiliate of the University of Wisconsin, Parkside, in May of 2006 with a pilot Peacemakers Workshop for three 4th grade classes. In December, 2010, PLC received its own 501(c)3 nonprofit status. Modeled after the Peace Learning Centers in Indianapolis and Milwaukee, PLC worked primarily with 4th and 5th grade classes. Since we first began, we have worked with 254 classes from 32 schools in Southeastern Wisconsin and have expanded to include community program
